Heading 2

Love, rebellion, and celebration thrives in Eric Eztli’s passionate poetry collection, despite the apathy and conformity that permeates much of society today. From My Blood questions why the people who have sacrificed the most continue to be persecuted, and why those who have been born with privilege must use it to destroy cultural norms meant to make victims of others. From the confusion of being a first generation Latino in Los Angeles to the struggle of immigrant families to state violence to being a man on a journey to unlearn toxicity, Eztli disrupts silence by placing each experience in the heart. From My Blood is a love letter to communities too often forgotten, and to the people in those communities that make them undeniably beautiful.
